Providing shelter to neglected, abandoned, and surrendered children with the aim of reintegrating these children with their families and communities.
About Hope 4 Haiti
How Did It Start?
As Dr. Forges was looking through his window one day, he witnessed the shocking scene of a child browsing through a mountain of garbage seeking for food. As he watched that child, three more came to the garbage looking for food. As a father of nine biological children, this broke his heart. Since this moment, he and his wife have dedicated their lives to compassionately bettering the lives of as many children as possible. Currently they provide:
- Full-time care and housing for 43 children
- Daily hot lunch for 150-300 additional children
What Are the Current Needs?
With over 300 more children still waiting to be rescued from a desperate way of living. We believe we can help them—one child at a time—in Jesus’ name. The most urgent need is a place to house them. We have land, but Pappy and Mammie Forges are seeking:
- Funds for a 45-room dormitory
- Clothes for males from 4 to 16 years of age.
- Shoes for youths of both gender
- Regular hygiene supplies (toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, mouthwash, petroleum jelly for hair, hair bows and ribbons, etc.)
- Underwear for both genders
- Food supplies
What Is Your Proposed Budget for 2020?
Our goal is to give hope to 300 more children who have been abandoned in the street. We need $67,200 for the year ($5,600.00 a month) in order to adequately provide for 300 Children, 43 orphans, and to pay 20 teachers and staff. This will allow us to feed these children, provide them with a good education, help them to prepare their future, and save them from juvenile delinquency.
What Are Some Future Goals You Hope to Achieve?
We are asking our Lord and Savior Jesus-Christ to help us open a modest pediatric clinic to provide care for children who have never had any medical care. We also need transportation; three, 50-seat, buses and a Jeep or truck for the orphanage would facilitate the transportation of these children tremendously.
